I ran across an old BBC series called “Aristocrats” on Amazon the other day. It detailed the rather unconventional lives of the daughters of the Duke of Richmond from the 1740s on. I can’t help thinking that this sparkler of a bracelet would have been right at home at on the wrist of one of these ladies yes, I know. But still, it shares that over the top rich and glam look. This comes from an estate out of New York. Its just a STUNNER of a piece that wears as easily as a watch due to its link based band and strong safety clasp. But the elegance of this piece can’t be denied. The center setting holds a large 7x5mm marquise shaped diamond flanked by large baguettes and round diamonds, all set in 14K white gold. The marquise stone is H-I in color and VS-2 in clarity. Secondary stones are I-J in color and VS-2 to S1-2 in clarity. There are 6 round stones on the outer edge of the center which are about a 1/16th of a carat each, and the baguettes are about 2.5x2mm a piece. Total carat weight is estimated conservatively at 1.8 carats for the entire bracelet. The design of this piece is very Art Deco with its geometric symmetry, but its likely from the Retro era maybe the 1970s or 1980s? The setting has a raised center with a crown-look undermount in profile. The band is made of flexible square links each with a round single cut diamond set into them. This bracelet measures 16mm north to south in the center at the widest point and 33mm east to west across the center section. Total length is 7.4 inches– the bracelet is about 60mm or 2.36 inches in diameter. The clasp is a double hinged snap shut clasp with a safety chain to assure that this piece never falls off your wrist. The piece is marked and tests for 14K. All stones are present. The clasp works well and snaps securely. This piece weighs 12.8 grams. The item “Amazing 1.8TCW DIAMOND 14K Link BRACELET Retro Art Deco Bridal Wedding Estate” is in sale since Sunday, July 8, 2018.
