I have collected vintage costume jewelry for over 25 years, and have some fabulous pieces/sets. This is a treasured bracelet that is marked “Miriam Haskell” in an oval cartouche on the back of the clasp. Its classic design is typical of alot of the high end bracelets that were popular years ago. The clasp end of the bracelet is encrusted with a round opal-colored cabochon in the center. Surrounding it is a lavender glass ring that sort of glows with light. Next is a halo of layered pale pink, purple, and lavender rhinestones in at least two different sizes of round stones. It is floral in design, and is just stunning. It is similar to those designed by “Original by Robert” and DeMario in days gone by. The clasp and the end are connected to each other by 6 strands of large faceted light purple glass crystals. It appears as if 3 of the strands may have been re-strung, and, when that was done, 3 of the strands were strung and secured together. The other 3 are still individual strands. They all seem secure, and although it’s a different look, it is still beautiful, and one of a kind. It’s a lovely piece, and is elegant in its simplicity. ITEM: Miriam Haskell Art Deco Bracelet. Marked “Miriam Haskell” in an oval cartouche on the back of the clasp. STONES/COLORS: The elaborate clasp end is circular in shape with a very 3-dimensional, layered floral design, consisting of a large opal-colored round cabochon in the center, a lavender smooth glowing ring around that, and then several layered rows of pale pink, purple, and lavender rhinestones in at least 2 sizes of round and faceted cuts. Connecting both ends together are some faceted light purple crystals, 6 strands in all. METAL COLOR: Antiqued brass-toned metal. CONDITION/FLAWS: Very good condition with only minimal wear, consistent with age, to the stones, crystals, or antiqued brass metalwork. The stone & crystals are all bright and clear. There are no stones missing. It appears that 3 of the 6 crystals strands are strung together for some reason, security maybe? And the remaining 3 strands remain strung individually. Although different, I find this does not detract from the bracelet’s overall beauty. MEASUREMENTS: Bracelet – 8 1/2 in. Long by 1 1/2 in. Wide at the widest point (the 6 strands of faceted crystals).
