THIS THE FIND OF THE MONTH FOR BOTH OF US.. A VINTAGE 40+ YEAR OLD ORIENT 21JEWEL SK CRYSTAL- COMPRESSION STYLE DIVER WATCH. IT IS IN NEW CONDITION. ORIENT SEA KING Crystal DIVER. FROM THE 1970’s. IT HAS TWO CROWNS. ONE FOR TIME SETTING AND THE OTHER FOR INNER ROTATING TIMING BEZEL. IT HAS THE Workhorse ORIEN. Has been using since the late1960s–It is very reliable & has. 21,600 BPH, and a 40 hour+ reserve. This great watch has both a quick-set date(push the top button in and out and date will advance). And a quick-set day. Done by gently pulling the middle crown to first position and rotating the crown counter-clockwise(towards you). The date will advance. Be gentle as this is a vintage watch. DOING SO CAN DAMAGE THE QUICK SET FUNCTION. IT IS IN FULL LENGTH UN-SIZED. THE LINKS HAVE SCREWS TO REMOVE -NOT PINS TO ADJUST SIZE. THIS TYPE OF BRACELET IS ONLY FOUND ON HIGH END WATCHES. IT IS VERY EASY TO ADJUST SIZE. THE WATCH IS IN EXCELLENT NEW OLD STOCK CONDITION WITHOUT COSMETIC FLAWS. THESE ORIGINAL SEA KING DIVERS ARE BECOMING HARDER TO FIND AS SEIKO WATCH CO. NOW OWNS ORIENT, and Orient Vintage divers are getting the respect they deserve. Case : NEW condition with no major dings or dents. Dial: Beautiful multi dial is in excellent condition with no fade or patina. For a 40=year old timepiece. Bracelet: Original Orient logoed stainless steel- in NEW UN-SCRATCHED CONDITION. Original Acrylic crystal in PERFECT condition WITH NO WEAR. Inner rotating timing bezel. Is in excellent working condition. Silver markers are easy to read. Silver indices are clear and easy to see. To BELIEVE, good lume. This is an untouched up 40+ year old timepiece. Orient Sea King History. One of the oldest true Japanese dive watches hails from Orient, a Japanese watch company founded in 1950. The Sea King and King Diver(Both almost identical) were introduced in 1964, designed in the same vein as the popular compression-case Swiss dive watches of the sixties. As was typical of these types of divers, the timing bezel was internal and operated by a second crown on the outside of the case, while the case back was compression sealed as opposed to merely screwed on. The SK Sea King Diver & KD King Diver’s popularity spawned an entire collection of dive watches stretching all the way into the early 80s. We love these pieces, not only for its history, but also for its elegant MODERN looks. It’s not hard to see a Japanese take on James Bond sporting this piece with a tux one moment, underwater fighting off legions of baddies the next. Purple-multi color Inner timingbezel. As long as they are within 5 minutes plus or minus in 24 hours they are considered to be working properly. I tested this watch during a 24 hour period and found the time keeping was satisfactory. I do not test for water resistance an. D cannot guarantee them to be water resistant! Most vintage watches are not!! Even though this watch is new old stock i would not wear it in water–It’s too valuable. Please remember that this is new old stock and is still is a Vintage timepiece. Even with all new automatic timepieces you will have to gently shake the watch in a clockwise or counter clockwise movement to get the rotor working properly. This is especially true when the watch has not been worn for some time. Reserve power has to build up for sometime to keep the watch running when not worn.. Beware, as many are junk and have parts pieced together from many different watches. Not easy to return these junk timepieces. At least I know where my watches come from and what’s inside them.
