Seiko 6119 7170 5 Sports Rare 1969 Proof Silver Rally Automatic Stelux Bracelet
In my opinion this Silver dial model is one of the best looking 5 sports. I’m clearing out part of my collection and will describe as they are so, keep in mine, repair, service and/or parts could be needed for it to operate fully as intended! I have not attempted to work on it other than shaking it. When I gave it the Seiko shake, she woke up and started ticking. The day/date function needs attention as I described earlier in the “condition description” section. Usually this is a sign of needing a cleaning & slight adjustment from past experience, but, it may need more work/adjustments. My longtime watch maker put a (i think) bit bigger o-ring on the stem or I’m getting weaker in my years…. Of course, I did say I don’t want condensation build up! I’ve worn it and no moisture issue, but turning or pushing/pulling the crown is a challenge with my thumb nail… That’s why I don’t pay attention to that function anyway. It’s not really bad, just a bit tighter than I’m used to. Not why I’m parting with it, just not going to wear it as much as I thought. It’s down the line in rotation quite a bit from my others, so, I decided; why not put back into circulation to be worn & appreciated by another enthusiast! The Stelux bracelet fits the lugs just right & wears great, also looks fantastic with this model! Too many watches, not enough time, so here ya go, enjoy! This was in my rotation and then put away and it sat for a while longer than I’d like to admit. During my “clearing out collection party” I discovered this one and I decided to re-activate this one back in rotation with a few others. Well, I found it needed a gasket service, so I had that done. Anyway, next owner can deal with that if they want. The movement keeps time good enough within my expectations and in my opinion the overall condition is good enough to be in rotation. Besides some issues with the dial face, and normal wear with the bezel, chapter ring, etc. You see in photos she is still a very good example of a complete running 7170 Proof Rally(my opinion, of course)! I have described it best I can. Please read the condition description before asking questions, thank you. If for any reason, you are not happy, send back within a few days, no worries! A short watch story… We recently moved and when I went though these, I thought; what a shame for these to be sitting, I’ve given out others to my kids & grand kids, & other family, friends, etc… My current rotation includes an Orange Bezel Seamaster planet ocean, and my Original 7107hey, It’s October, time to wear the pumpkin face… Look, I’ve been collecting/trading watches since the mid 70’s. Just really enjoy it. My dad gave me the fever, I was always buggin him to wear his watches, and especially the 1965 Speedmaster. Pressing those buttons, playing with the chrono… And if I come across a 6105-59-62xx’s original or golden Tuna. I’m a sucker for the early 80’s quartz chronograph’s too. Guess I’m a watch fanatic?? I also have a descent collection of stop watches. Thanks for reading have a good one!
