I have collected vintage costume jewelry for over 25 years, and have some fabulous pieces/sets. This is a treasured bracelet courtesy of Joseph Mazer. Its classic design is typical of this designer, who can design so many pieces in so many different ways, I find that whatever I collect from him is well worth it, and can usually pass for the real thing, with little question. The bracelet has that familiar Art Deco look of a centerpiece with an elaborate bow and ribbons. There are clear rounds and baguettes in several sizes, sparkled all around. All stones appear to be pave’ or channel-set. All are faceted & foil-backed. The tiny clear rounds are set in the front, sides, and in the curls of the bow and ribbons in gold metal, forming the loops of a bow. SIGNAGE : I cannot locate a definitive “Mazer ” marking where it would usually be, on back of the bracelet’s centerpiece or on the back of the clasp. I can see some faded markings on the centerpiece’s back, which probably is the signature, but cannot guarantee it. One familiar with this designer will know that it is a Mazer bracelet. There is no doubt in my mind. STONES/COLORS: Different sizes of clear baguettes and round. These are deftly arranged in the elaborate ribbon-like centerpiece, resembling a fancy sunburst. The front, sides, and loops of the centerpiece ribbon are clear pave’-set rounds, with some channel-set baguettes. Adorning the jeweled centerpiece front and sides. Connecting the centerpiece to the end is a set of 2 slinky golden serpentine chains. All stones are present and faceted. METAL COLOR: Shiny gold-toned metal. CONDITION/FLAWS: Very good condition with minimal wear consistent with age to the stones and metal. The stones are mostly all bright and clear. The shiny gold-toned metal has only a minimum of wear, giving it a bright look. Some of the tiny clear rounds have darkened with age, consistent with age, but nothing that. Would detract from the overall beauty of this wonderful vintage piece. MEASUREMENTS: Bracelet – 6 1/2 in. Long by 1 1/8 in. Wide at the swirled centerpiece. There is no working safety chain.
